We offer a wide range of pressure reducing valves for industrial systems
At Valfonta, we offer a wide range of industrial pressure reducing valves, designed to ensure safety, efficiency, and stability in processes where pressure control is a critical factor. If you are looking for an overview, our guide reviews all the classes of industrial valves and their function.
With more than 50 years of experience in design and manufacturing, we have developed models that adapt to the needs of many sectors, from the chemical and pharmaceutical industries to energy, food, and water treatment.
Most of our valves are designed to work with liquids, inert gases, and steam, and they are manufactured in different materials and configurations to meet very diverse flow, pressure, and temperature conditions.
Thanks to this approach, we have solutions that cover a wide spectrum of industrial applications, from compact laboratory installations to complex distribution networks in large plants.
M1 reducing valve
This is a pressure regulating valve self-operated by diaphragm that keeps the downstream pressure stable without auxiliary power. It is designed for steam, compressed air, inert gases, and liquids, with a fast response to changes in demand and proportional closing as P2 increases.
From DN65 upward, it incorporates a balancing plunger to stabilize the influence of the inlet pressure. The stem is sealed with a double stainless steel bellows (anti-twist system), and the pressure chamber is fitted with reinforced diaphragms, which improves tightness and durability.
Main technical characteristics
- Available with a regulating range of 0.1–15 barg and a maximum inlet pressure of 40 barg (DN15–50) / 25 barg (DN65–150).
- Bodies in RG10 bronze, A216 WCB carbon steel, or A351 CF3M stainless steel; EN 1092 PN16–PN40, ANSI 150/300, and BSP/NPT threaded connections; AISI 316L internals.
- EPDM (-40 to 125 °C) or EPDM+PTFE (up to 250 °C) diaphragms; various plug materials (graphite-filled PTFE, NBR, PEEK, etc.).
- Optional ATEX compliance (II 2 GD) for zones 1/2 (gas) and 21/22 (dust). Reference Kv by size: 3.5 to 240 m³/h (DN15–DN150).
Typical applications: pressure reduction/stabilization in steam lines (with a water seal pot if >125 °C), compressed air networks, industrial water, and inert gases; ideal as a standalone regulator on process drop lines, heat exchanger feeds, and protection of sensitive equipment where low maintenance and high reliability are required.

M2 reducing valve

The Valfonta M2 pressure reducing valve is a direct-acting model that works without auxiliary power. Regulation is achieved by a control diaphragm that balances the downstream pressure against the force of an adjusting spring, allowing it to keep the outlet pressure stable even when the inlet pressure fluctuates.
This design makes it especially suitable for liquids, inert gases, compressed air, and steam, providing a fast and reliable response in applications that require constant and safe regulation.
Main technical characteristics
- Available sizes: DN15 to DN100, covering a wide range of installations.
- Maximum inlet pressure: up to 40 barg, making it suitable for demanding systems.
- Regulating range: different adjustable ranges depending on the spring installed, allowing it to be precisely matched to each process requirement.
- Rugged construction: body in bronze, carbon steel, or stainless steel, depending on service requirements.
- Reinforced diaphragm: made of EPDM or combined with PTFE for higher temperatures, ensuring strength and a long service life.
- Connections: available with EN1092 (PN16–PN40) or ANSI 150/300 flanges, or BSP/NPT threads, offering integration flexibility.
- Plug and internal components: in AISI 316L stainless steel, ensuring corrosion resistance and compatibility with a wide range of fluids.
Operating advantages
- No external power required: simple installation and low operating cost.
- Diaphragm compensation: ensures a stable and precise outlet pressure.
- Reduced maintenance: a compact, simple design that minimizes wear points.
- Versatility: suitable for both industrial uses and general service applications.
In short, the M2 valve combines reliability, low maintenance, and ease of integration, making it an efficient solution for keeping pressure under control in water, steam, air, or industrial gas networks.
