The Valfonta M2F pressure reducing valve is an evolution of the M2 model that incorporates a stainless steel bellows system (AISI 316Ti). This self-actuated design allows the outlet pressure to be reduced and stabilized with great precision, without the need for auxiliary energy.
Its main competitive advantage is that the bellows acts simultaneously as a balancing and sealing element, which eliminates friction on the shaft and ensures smooth, reliable operation. By separating the internal mechanisms from the fluid, it is an ideal solution for steam, compressed air, gases and liquids. Unlike the standard model, the M2F stands out in steam applications up to 200°C because it does not require the installation of a condensate tank (barrel), greatly simplifying installation and reducing assembly costs.
-
Dimensional Range: Available from DN15 up to DN50.
-
Maximum Inlet Pressure: Up to 25 barg.
-
Regulation Range: Designed to work within 1 to 4 barg and 3 to 10 barg ranges (consult for special ranges).
-
Body Materials: High construction versatility to adapt to the process:
-
Ductile Iron (GGG40.3) and Bronze (RG10) for PN25.
-
Carbon Steel (WCB) and Stainless Steel (CF3M) for PN40.
-
-
Internals and Bellows: Internal parts in AISI 316L stainless steel and Bellows in AISI 316Ti of high resistance.
-
Temperature Limits:
-
Steam: Up to 200°C (with PTFE+GR or PEEK plug).
-
Air and Nitrogen: Up to 150°C.
-
-
Connections: DIN flanges (PN16-PN40), ANSI (150/300 lbs) and BSP / NPT threads.
The valve operates by direct action and force balance. The fluid passes through the valve and the outlet pressure acts on the bellows, generating a closing force that opposes the opening force of the upper spring.
-
Regulation: By compressing the spring with the screw, the plug opens allowing the fluid to pass through.
-
Compensation: Any variation in the inlet pressure or in consumption is instantly absorbed by the bellows and the compensation joint, adjusting the plug position to keep the outlet pressure constant.
-
Safety: The valve is designed to automatically close if the outlet pressure rises above the set value.
For optimum operation, follow these specific instructions for the M2F model:
-
Mounting Position: It must be installed in horizontal piping, strictly respecting the flow direction indicated by the body arrow.
-
Filtration: It is essential to install a strainer filter at the inlet to protect the seat and the bellows from foreign particles.
-
Condensate Tank: NOT NECESSARY. Thanks to the bellows design, this valve can operate with steam up to 200°C connected directly, without the need to install protection barrels, thus saving space and components.
-
Control Piping:
-
Standard: Supplied with internal tapping, ready to install.
-
Optional: If requested with an external tapping, the connection must be made at a minimum distance of 6 x DN from the valve.
-
-
Adjustment: Turn the top screw clockwise to increase outlet pressure and counterclockwise to reduce it.
