The PRV44 pressure reducing valve from Valfonta is an advanced self-operated, bellows-balanced regulation solution. Designed for maximum precision, it maintains constant downstream pressure in the process, automatically compensating for any fluctuations in the inlet pressure.
Its distinguishing element is the stainless steel bellows welded by microplasma, which isolates the regulating mechanism from the fluid and guarantees superior external tightness. Manufactured entirely in AISI 316L Stainless Steel, it is the preferred choice for critical applications such as steam, corrosive gases and process fluids where reliability, cleanliness, and no maintenance are required.

-
Maximum Inlet Pressure: Up to 25 barg.
-
Control Range: Three interchangeable spring ranges to cover from 0.5 to 12 barg (0.5-3 / 1-8 / 4-12 barg).
-
Operating Temperature: Extended range from -30°C up to +210°C, ideal for steam.
-
Materials: "Full Inox" construction with body, cap, internals, and bellows in AISI 316L.
-
Shut-off: Soft seat in graphited PTFE for a tight shut-off, even with steam.
-
Connections: Threaded BSP / NPT and Flanges DIN / ANSI.
The PRV44 valve combines the principle of direct action with bellows balancing. The inlet pressure tries to close the valve, while the regulating spring opens it.
-
Dynamic Balance: The stainless steel bellows compensates the pressure forces, making the valve insensitive to upstream pressure variations.
-
Precise Adjustment: By turning the top screw, the spring is compressed to set the outlet pressure. The plug modulates its opening to maintain that exact value.
-
Safety: The valve closes automatically if the outlet pressure increases, protecting the downstream equipment.
To fully exploit the performance of the bellows and ensure durability:
-
Mounting position: Installation on a horizontal pipe with the actuator facing upwards is recommended, although its design allows mounting in any position if the space requires it.
-
Protection: Always install a strainer filter before the valve to prevent solid particles from damaging the seal or the bellows.
-
Steam: In steam applications, it is an excellent valve thanks to its thermal resistance (+210°C).
-
Safety valve: It is advisable to install a safety valve at a distance of 0.5 to 1 meter from the outlet.
-
Adjustment: Turn the regulating screw clockwise to increase pressure, and counterclockwise to decrease.
