The Valfonta PRV20 model pressure reducing valve is a self-regulated, piston-balanced device designed to provide a constant outlet pressure regardless of fluctuations in inlet pressure. It is a compact, robust and maintenance-free solution, ideal for applications in chemical laboratories, sanitary plants and compressed air systems.
Manufactured entirely from stainless steel AISI 316L (bronze option available), its design allows installation in any position and provides precise regulation through a direct acting system. The valve closes automatically when the outlet pressure increases above the set value.
- Dimensional Range: Available in sizes 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", and 3/4".
- Maximum Inlet Pressure: Withstands up to 40 barg.
- Adjustment Range: Offers three adjustable outlet pressure ranges:
- 0.2 to 2 barg
- 1 to 8 barg
- 5 to 20 barg.
- Materials:
- Body and Internals: Stainless Steel AISI 316L (1.4404) as standard (Bronze upon request).
- Seals: Available in NBR, FKM and EPDM depending on chemical compatibility and temperature.
- Connections: Threaded ends BSP or NPT (other connections upon request).
- Temperature Limits: From -20 °C to +80 °C (other ranges available upon request).
The PRV20 model operates by direct action. The inlet pressure tends to close the valve due to the difference in piston areas. By compressing the spring using the adjusting screw, the closure assembly opens, allowing fluid to pass and regulating the downstream pressure.
When demand stops (zero flow), the valve absorbs oscillations and maintains static pressure according to the setting. If the outlet pressure exceeds the set value, the valve closes tightly.
- Installation Position: It can be installed in any position, facilitating its integration in confined spaces or complex pipelines.
- Filtration: It is recommended to install a strainer filter upstream of the valve to protect the seal and piston from impurities that may affect regulation.
- Supports: Pipe supports should be placed near the valve but never fixed directly to the valve body or actuator, to avoid mechanical stress.
- Safety Valve: It is recommended to install a safety valve downstream, leaving a distance of 0.5 to 1 meter from the reducing valve for better compensation.
- Adjustment: Turn the upper screw clockwise to increase the outlet pressure and counterclockwise to reduce it.
