Valfonta's PRV54 excess pressure valve is an advanced regulating unit designed to keep the main line pressure constant, relieving excess fluid when the set point is exceeded. Unlike other models, this unit is bellows balanced, ensuring exceptional accuracy and total isolation of the shaft from the fluid.
Made entirely of AISI 316L stainless steel (body, internals, cap and bellows), it is the perfect solution for applications with steam, gases, liquids and corrosive fluids where high reliability and zero emissions to the outside are required. Its robust design allows it to work in an extended temperature range and requires no maintenance.
-
Dimensional Range: 1/2" (DN15), 3/4" (DN20) and 1" (DN25) sizes.
-
Maximum Inlet Pressure: Up to 16 barg.
-
Adjustment Ranges: Three spring ranges are available to adjust the relief pressure:
-
0.5 to 4 barg
-
3 to 8 barg
-
4 to 12 barg.
-
-
Differential Element: It incorporates an AISI 316 stainless steel bellows welded by microplasma, which balances the pressures and ensures the tightness of the stem.
-
Working Temperature: Wide range from -30°C to +210°C, which makes it suitable for steam.
-
Materials: "Full Inox" construction in AISI 316L.
-
Connections: BSP / NPT threaded and DIN / ANSI flanges.
The PRV54 valve operates by bellows-balanced direct action:
-
Sensing: Pressure at the valve inlet acts on the piston and bellows assembly.
-
Proportional opening: When the inlet pressure exceeds the force exerted by the regulating spring, the valve opens proportionally to the excess pressure.
-
Balancing: The bellows compensates the pressure forces, allowing the valve to operate stably regardless of downstream fluctuations. If the inlet pressure drops below the set point, the spring closes the valve tightly.
To ensure bellows performance and safety, follow these specific instructions:
-
Filtration: It is advisable to install a strainer filter upstream of the valve to protect the seal and bellows from impurities.
-
Mounting position:
-
Liquids and Gases (< 150°C): Can be installed in any position.
-
Steam and Fluids (> 150°C): Must be installed in horizontal piping with the actuator pointing downwards. This position protects the mechanism from high direct steam temperatures.
-
-
Location: It is recommended to leave a distance of 0.5 to 1 meter between the valve and the pressure source or shut-off valve.
-
Adjustment: Adjustment is made by turning the screw with an 8mm Allen wrench.
-
Manual Note: To increase the set pressure (compress the spring), turn counterclockwise. To decrease, turn clockwise.
