The PRV54 overpressure valve from Valfonta is an advanced regulating unit, designed to maintain the main line pressure constant, relieving excess fluid when the setpoint value is exceeded. Unlike other models, this equipment is bellows balanced, ensuring exceptional accuracy and total shaft isolation from the fluid.
Built entirely of AISI 316L Stainless Steel (body, internals, cap and bellows), it is the perfect solution for applications with steam, gases, liquids and corrosive fluids where high reliability and zero emissions to the outside are required. Its robust design allows operation over an extended temperature range and requires no maintenance.
-
Dimensional Range: Sizes 1/2" (DN15), 3/4" (DN20) and 1" (DN25).
-
Maximum Inlet Pressure: Up to 16 barg.
-
Setting Ranges: Available with three spring ranges for adjusting the relief pressure:
-
0.5 to 4 barg
-
3 to 8 barg
-
4 to 12 barg.
-
-
Differential Element: Incorporates a AISI 316 stainless steel bellows microplasma welded, balancing pressures and ensuring tightness of the stem.
-
Working Temperature: Wide range from -30°C to +210°C, making it suitable for steam.
-
Materials: "Full Inox" construction in AISI 316L.
-
Connections: Threaded BSP / NPT and Flanged DIN / ANSI.
The PRV54 valve operates by direct action balanced by bellows:
-
Detection: The pressure at the valve inlet acts on the piston and bellow assembly.
-
Proportional opening: When the inlet pressure exceeds the force exerted by the spring, the valve opens proportionally to the excess pressure.
-
Balance: The bellows compensates the pressure forces, allowing the valve to operate stably regardless of downstream fluctuations. If the inlet pressure falls below the setpoint, the spring closes the valve tightly.
To ensure bellows performance and safety, follow these specific instructions:
-
Filtration: It is recommended to install a strainer filter before the valve to protect the seat and bellows from impurities.
-
Mounting Position:
-
Liquids and Gases (< 150°C): Can be installed in any position.
-
Steam and Fluids (> 150°C): Must be installed horizontally with the actuator facing down. This protects the mechanism from the high direct temperatures of steam.
-
-
Location: It is recommended to leave a distance of 0.5 to 1 meter between the valve and the pressure source or shut-off valve.
-
Setting: Adjustment is done by turning the screw with an 8mm Allen key.
-
Manual note: To increase the set pressure (compress the spring), turn counterclockwise. To decrease, turn clockwise.
