Valfonta's PRV44 pressure reducing valve is an advanced bellows-balanced, self-acting regulation solution. Designed for maximum accuracy, it maintains a constant outlet pressure in the process, automatically compensating for any fluctuations in the inlet pressure.
Its distinctive feature is the microplasma-welded stainless steel bellows, which isolates the regulating mechanism from the fluid and ensures superior sealing to the outside. Manufactured entirely in AISI 316L stainless steel, it is the preferred choice for critical applications such as steam, corrosive gases and process fluids where reliability, cleanliness and freedom from maintenance are required.
-
Dimensional Range: Available in 1/2", 3/4" and 1" (DN15-DN25).
-
Maximum Inlet Pressure: Up to 25 barg.
-
Regulation Range: Three interchangeable spring ranges to cover from 0.5 to 12 barg (0.5-3 / 1-8 / 4-12 barg).
-
Working Temperature: Extended range from -30°C to +210°C, ideal for steam.
-
Materials: "Full Inox" construction with body, cap, internals and bellows in AISI 316L.
-
Seal: Graphited PTFE soft seat for a hermetic seal even with steam.
-
Connections: BSP / NPT threaded and DIN / ANSI flanges.
The PRV44 valve combines the direct acting principle with bellows balancing. The inlet pressure tries to close the valve, while the regulating spring opens it.
-
Dynamic balancing: The stainless steel bellows compensates pressure forces, making the valve insensitive to upstream pressure variations.
-
Precise regulation: Turning the upper screw compresses the spring to set the outlet pressure. The poppet modulates its opening to maintain that exact value.
-
Safety: The valve closes automatically if the outlet pressure increases, protecting downstream equipment.
To maximize the performance of the bellows and ensure durability:
-
Mounting position: Installation in horizontal piping with the actuator facing upwards is recommended, although its design allows mounting in any position if space permits.
-
Protection: Always install a strainer upstream of the valve to prevent solid particles from damaging the seal or bellows.
-
Steam: In steam applications, it is an excellent valve due to its thermal resistance (+210°C).
-
Safety valve: It is advisable to install a safety valve at a distance of 0.5 to 1 meter from the outlet.
-
Adjustment: Turn the adjusting screw clockwise to increase the pressure and counterclockwise to decrease it.
