What the ALPER is used for

The ALPER is a safety valve with full, instantaneous opening for liquids, compressed air, inert gases, and steam. When the pressure exceeds the set value, it opens and discharges the excess fluid; once the pressure returns to normal, it closes again. It has a ¼″ female threaded hole for draining and removing condensate. More background in our article on pressure relief devices.

Frequently asked questions about the ALPER

Which figure do I need?

It depends on the material, the connection, and the actuation. Odd-numbered figures (375, 377, 385, 387, 395, and 397) have a lever, and even-numbered ones are sealed. Figures 375 to 378 are stainless steel, 385 to 388 combine a bronze bonnet with a stainless base, and 395 to 398 are bronze, with a PTFE or bronze plug.

What maximum pressure does it accept?

PN25 with metal seat and PN16 with PTFE seat. The maximum temperature is 280 °C in stainless steel and 240 °C in bronze.

Is it supplied preset?

Yes. All are tested on a bench with pressurized air at room temperature and supplied set to the pressure specified by the customer.
